Role of a Leadership Placement Consultant
Business executives
have a lot of responsibility and earn handsome salary packages. And
therefore, their employers expect them to be good leaders. An
executive requires strong management skills and social skills to be
an effective leader. Leadership placement consultants, often called
as executive coaches, analyze and hone the skills necessary for an
executive to perform as an effective leader. Following are the
chores performed by the Leadership Placement Consultants.
- Initial Interview and TestingAt this phase, an assessment interview will be conducted by the leadership consultants to analyze the traits of executives. During the interview, the leadership placement consultants look for leadership attributes such as zeal, emotional stability, confidence, tough-mindedness and diligence.
- DebriefingAfter the preliminary assessment, the placement leadership consultant interrogates the executive by listing the executive’s strengths and weaknesses as determined in the interview. During the debriefing, the consultant tracks the executive’s rejoinder to the assessment, by observing any signs of denial, defensiveness or aggrandizement.
- Final AssessmentDuring this phase, the consultant reviews the overall performance of the executive in meeting his goals. Based on this review, the consultant further focuses on strengthening the executive’s leadership skills as well as on building additional skills.
